TNIV Devotional email
The monthly TNIV Devotional email contains special
features issues men and women face such as career, dating, marriage,
children, changing friendships, moving, money, jealousy, and pride.
Specifically, this devotional email features excerpts and readings from
Strive:
The Bible for Men and
True Identity: The Bible for Women. Information
featured in the devotional emails will reflect the following features.
At Issue
What does the Bible say about _____ (money, friendships, gossip,
dating,
jealousy and pride)? These short, hard-hitting notes on life topics bring you the
Bible’s teaching on various issues of life.
In this feature you’ll
find no-nonsense, hard-hitting, brutally honest truths on common issues
we each face everyday.
Myths
“We should live together before we get married to make sure we’re
compatible.” “I am what I do.” “If I were a good Christian, I wouldn’t
struggle with this.” Every day we hear (and subconsciously believe)
myths the world tells us. Satan’s tried-and-true weapon against us is
lies. Read
about people who have gotten sidetracked by these lies, and let them
give you directions from God’s Word that will help guide you back to the
path of truth. In each “Myth,” there are stories based on true experiences about
how believing that myth affected each person’s life. Then you can
explore what God’s Word says so that the next time you hear the myth,
you can name the lie and replace it with the truth.
Conversations
Do you ever find yourself skimming over the top of a familiar
passage of Scripture and wondering what you’re missing? “Conversations”
give you penetrating questions to reflect on.
He Is …
If your identity is rooted in God, then it’s important to know who
he is. The first part of each “He Is” note introduces you to God as he
reveals himself in Scripture. The second part of the note teaches how
that attribute of God affects who you are and how you think and live.
Downshift
Here are 200 places
along the way to pause and ponder. Where am I headed? What’s true? Why
do I do what I do? What do I need to be doing differently? This feature
is designed to give you a chance to do something that is becoming
increasingly rare in our fast-paced society—to slow down and think
deeply about God’s truth and its relevance to your life.
Knowing God
If we were made by
God to live for him, if he is the one we’re supposed to seek
and love and serve, doesn’t it make sense to find out what God is like?
These notes will help you know him better and live as a man created in
God’s image.
